I suggest you ...

Enable swipe-to-dismiss for the player notification

In contrast to most of my other audio players, I cannot swipe the player notification to one side to dismiss it. So I need to kill uPod from the recent apps screen to make the player notification disappear.

I would suggest the behavior of Google Play Music's player notification: swipe-to-dismiss only works after pausing the playback of an episode.

Oh cool. Thanks for the workaround! I didn't realize the appearance of the stop button before when expanding the notification.

Agree that this would be better.

As a workaround you can stop the playback to make the notification disappear. You can do this directly in the notification in expanded mode. Hint: By default Android displays notification in collapsed mode. Swipe down on a notification to expand it. The uPod notification will then provide additional actions including the stop button. Hit it to stop playback and the notification will be dismissed.
